CroisiEurope is reshaping its summer 2027 river cruise programme, introducing a series of new itineraries across the Rhine, Danube and Main, as it draws on almost 50 years of experience navigating Europe’s waterways. The French-owned river cruise specialist has redesigned selected itineraries and repositioned part of its fleet for summer 2027, using its detailed knowledge of Europe’s rivers and individual river basins to anticipate changing navigation conditions and deliver a diverse programme of journeys.
With climate change creating an increasingly complex operating environment for the river cruise industry, CroisiEurope says its longstanding expertise in navigation, river levels and the characteristics of its fleet is allowing it to build greater flexibility into its programme from the outset. For 2027, this includes deploying ships with shallow draughts on selected routes and designing itineraries around the particular characteristics of each river basin. The result is a programme that introduces travellers to some of Europe’s lesser-explored waterways and destinations, while offering new ways to experience established favourites.
Discovering the Danube differently, through the Iron Gates and Balkans
The Danube takes centre stage in CroisiEurope’s 2027 programme, with a series of itineraries centred around Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade and the Iron Gates.
A new Balkan itinerary will take guests from Novi Sad and Belgrade to Golubac Fortress and the Iron Gates, one of the most dramatic and spectacular stretches of the Danube, as the river cuts through the Carpathian and Balkan mountains.
CroisiEurope has also reworked its itineraries between Vienna and Passau and Vienna and Budapest, providing different perspectives on the Danube and its historic Central European capitals.
The company is also expanding onto the Main, with a new itinerary from Mainz to Nuremberg following the Route of Emperors. The cruise will combine river scenery with the castles, historic towns and cultural heritage of Bavaria.
New horizons on the Rhine
CroisiEurope is also expanding its summer programme on the Rhine, with new itineraries designed to reveal a different side of the region.
In the Netherlands, a new cruise around Amsterdam and the IJsselmeer, the country’s largest inland lake, will take guests beyond the traditional Dutch city break, visiting historic port towns, lakes and canals and picturesque villages.
Another new itinerary will travel from Amsterdam to the Moselle Valley and Luxembourg, combining the landscapes of the Netherlands with the vineyards, villages and scenery of the Moselle.
On the Upper Rhine, CroisiEurope is expanding its programme around Strasbourg and Basel, opening up new opportunities to explore Alsace, Switzerland and the Black Forest.
The changes form part of CroisiEurope’s longer-term approach to river cruising, using almost five decades of experience to anticipate navigation conditions rather than simply respond to them.
