The Port of Tilbury, established in 1886, stands as a cornerstone of the UK's maritime heritage, playing a pivotal role in the nation's trade and commerce. Nestled on the Thames, it handles over 16 million tonnes of cargo annually, underscoring its significance in global logistics.

Port of London Authority's Tilbury Cruise Terminal has been exclusively serving cruise ships since 1916. To accommodate the growing demand and requirements, a spacious new passenger landing stage was erected along the Thames, complete with rail connections, in May 1930. In 1992, the port underwent privatisation and became a part of the Forth Ports organisation, which is currently working on restoring the Grade II Listed terminal to its former grandeur.

During the 1960s, many individuals seeking a new life in Australia embarked on ships like RMS Mooltan from Tilbury, affectionately known as the 'Ten Pound Poms.'

The London Cruise Terminal at Tilbury, Essex is conveniently located on the banks of the River Thames, just 25 miles east of London. Estimated travel times, assuming smooth traffic conditions, are approximately one hour from central London and London City Airport, one hour and fifteen minutes from London Gatwick Airport and London Stansted Airport, and approximately two hours from London Heathrow.
