Norwegian Cruise Line is significantly upgrading its private island, Great Stirrup Cay, with a series of new amenities and attractions debuting from late 2025 through summer 2026.

Iglu says the best part will be the thrilling jet-kartingexperience, an aquatic circuit that combines jet skiing with go-karting.
The introduction of a two-ship pier in late 2025 means even more cruisers can enjoy everything on offer here. Great Stirrup Cay will see the Great Life Lagoon heated pool and kids’ Splash Harbor area introduced before the New Year. Several new swim-up bars and a new welcome centre will also feature in this first wave of improvements.

Ahead of summer 2026, Norwegian Cruise Line will be working on adding even more incredible features to this holiday hotspot. In addition to Hammock Bay, an open lounge area with its own bar and numerous hammocks to relax on, this private island destination will see adults-only Vibe Shore Club, Horizon Park, a new outdoor sports and recreational space, and the Great Tides Waterparkopened over the first half of the year. So, whether you’re looking for an adults-only spot to soak up the sunshine in, an area where you can play lawn games and light sports with friends and family, or a waterpark boasting 19 unique slides, Great Stirrup Cay has something every type of traveller can take advantage of when they arrive.

Dave Mills, Chief Commercial Officer at Iglu Cruise says, ‘We are so excited by all the developments at Great Stirrup Cay. Many of our customers choose a cruise based on the chance of visiting a private island, and Norwegian Cruise Line’s new features for Great Stirrup Cay will be incredible. They will attract new-to-cruise customers, seeking the ultimate private beach experience, and those keen to see what Norwegian will deliver for next year. We have had plenty of enquiries and bookings already, and are expecting increasing demand for cruises and tailor-made holidays including a Norwegian cruise stopping at Great Stirrup Cay.’
