Flåm is a picturesque village located in the western part of Norway, nestled within the stunning landscapes of the Aurlandsfjord, a branch of the Sognefjord. It is renowned for its natural beauty, charming atmosphere, and breathtaking fjords.

On Day 4 Enchanted Princess visited the wonderful port of Flam and we had the best day so far. The town is beautiful with a rich history and we enjoyed exploring the area. We chose to book an electric car and drove round independently, something we would do again!

One of the main attractions of Flåm is its scenic railway, known as the Flåm Railway or Flåmsbana. This railway journey is considered one of the most scenic train rides in the world, taking you through dramatic mountain scenery, cascading waterfalls, and lush valleys. The train winds its way up from Flåm to the mountain station of Myrdal, offering mesmerizing views at every turn.

Apart from the railway, Flåm offers plenty of outdoor activities and opportunities to explore the surrounding nature. Visitors can go hiking or biking along the many trails, enjoying the fresh mountain air and stunning vistas. The Aurlandsfjord itself is perfect for boat trips, where you can marvel at the towering cliffs and crystal-clear waters.

For those interested in local culture, Flåm also has several attractions to offer. The Flåm Railway Museum provides insight into the history and construction of the railway, while the Flåm Church, built in the traditional Norwegian stave church style, showcases the area's architectural heritage.

In terms of amenities, Flåm has a range of accommodation options, including hotels, guesthouses, and cabins. The village also features restaurants and cafes serving traditional Norwegian cuisine, allowing visitors to savour local flavours and specialties.

Overall, Flåm is a captivating destination that seamlessly combines natural beauty, outdoor adventures, and cultural experiences. It offers a serene and idyllic atmosphere, making it an ideal place to unwind and immerse oneself in the wonders of the Norwegian fjords.
