This is our P&O Azura Inside Cabin Tour and Review. During our P&O Azura Canary Islands and Madeira cruise we were allocated an inside cabin. We were given A611, which is located midship. We hope you find this tour helpful and we hope it gives you a clear indication of what amenities P&O Cruises cabins have to offer.

First Impressions & Space: Surprisingly Roomy
We booked a standard P&O saver inside cabin rate for our cruise on Azura and were lucky enough to receive an upgrade from an inside forward to an inside mid-ship cabin on Deck 10.
Initially, we were slightly apprehensive about the location. Deck 10 sits right below Deck 11 (Riviera Deck), and on the deck plans, there is a launderette situated nearby. However, after spending a full week staying in A611, we are pleased to report that we did not hear a single peep. The room was wonderfully quiet throughout the night.
As soon as you walk through the door of A611, the room feels remarkably bright. P&O Azura features clever mirror placements across the cabin walls, which reflects the light brilliantly and makes the entire room feel far larger than a standard inside stateroom.
The room is keycard-activated, with a handy master slot right at the main entrance next to the primary light switches.
The Game Changer: The Walk-in Wardrobe
The absolute standout feature of cabin A611 is the dedicated walk-in wardrobe area. On many modern mega-ships like P&O Arvia, cabin space is tightly optimized, often sacrificing storage width. On Azura, this floor plan gives you a proper dressing alcove right as you enter.
Inside the wardrobe section, you will find:
Hanging Space: A long rail equipped with plenty of coat hangers. If you run short, your cabin steward can bring extra upon request.
Overhead Storage: A wide top shelf running the length of the rail, perfect for extra bedding or large bags.
Floor Storage: Ample space under the hanging clothes for large suitcases and shoes.
Shelving Unit: A multi-tiered shelving tower for folded clothes, jumpers, and accessories.
Digital Safe: Located within the shelving unit. It is generous enough to easily hold an iPad, small cameras, passports, and wallets, though you will struggle to fit a full-sized laptop.
Having a proper walk-in wardrobe keeps the main bedroom area entirely free of clothing clutter, which makes a massive difference to roominess over a seven-night cruise.

Living Area, Vanity Unit & Amenities
Moving past the entry hallway, the main room opens up into a well-proportioned bedroom and desk space.
The air conditioning control unit is mounted neatly on the wall near the entrance to the bedroom area. It was easy to adjust and kept the cabin at a perfect, consistent temperature for the duration of the trip.

Tom & Dom Practical Tip: Because P&O Azura is a classic ship, there are no native USB ports anywhere in the cabin. Be sure to pack a standard UK multi-plug adapter or a multi-port USB wall charger so you can charge your phones, cameras, and smartwatches simultaneously using the two UK 3-pin sockets.
For tea and coffee lovers, P&O provides a proper kettle, mugs, tea bags, coffee sachets, and milk pods right on the desk. We recommend picking up a couple of large bottles of water during embarkation day to keep chilled inside the mini-fridge.
Sleeping Comfort & Bed Setup
The main bed is positioned centrally against the back wall and framed by a large decorative mirror.
The bed can be configured as a large double or split into two single twin beds by asking your cabin steward. We found the mattress and bedding to be exceptionally comfortable. In fact the hardest part of the holiday was forcing ourselves out of bed each morning!

Because inside cabins are completely dark when the lights are off, waking up can sometimes feel disorienting. We always travel with a portable Sunrise Alarm Clock for inside staterooms. It gradually brightens the room over 30 minutes, simulating a real sunrise so you do not have to turn on harsh overhead lights in pitch darkness.
It is an absolute game-changer for waking up feeling properly refreshed and ready for a busy port day.

The Bathroom: Small but Spotless
The bathroom in cabin A611 is compact, a classic cruise ship "bijou" setup, but functional and immaculately clean.

Shower Style: Compact shower cubicle with fabric cloth curtain
The primary drawback in the bathroom is the infamous cloth shower curtain. It has a habit of clinging while you shower. Additionally, the showerhead in A611 is fixed at a lower height on the wall. If you are taller, washing your hair requires a bit of awkward ducking.
Despite the shower head height and curtain, the water pressure and temperature controls were spot-on throughout the trip.

Was It Worth It?
Yes, absolutely!
For a standard saver inside fare, cabin A611 on P&O Azura offers exceptional value for money. The floor plan feels significantly more spacious than modern inside cabins on newer vessels like P&O Arvia, primarily due to the walk-in wardrobe and smart mirror layout.
This cabin is perfect for couples, solo travellers, or budget-conscious cruisers who prioritize sleep quality, great storage, and a central deck location over a balcony view. While the shower curtain and older television are minor annoyances, they do not detract from a brilliant stay. We would happily book this exact stateroom again.
